Ohio School Facilities Commission
CTE is providing construction management services to the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) on various schools within Ohio as part of the $28-billion state-wide capital improvements program. These services include the coordination and compliance review of condition assessments, master plans and the design development from schematic design through construction documents. Our construction managers coordinate the development, bid, negotiation and award of the various bid packages for each school. In doing this, we prepare cost estimates at each phase of design to ensure the design meets the OSFC and the local school district's needs yet is within the original budget both before and after bidding.
During construction, CTE's staff hold meetings, inspect and document construction activities and review schedules as part of monitoring the construction for compliance with the construction documents; contractor schedule adherence; adequate work force and equipment; and the timely delivery of materials and equipment. These efforts, combined with daily documentation and reporting, timely reviews of submittals and a general pro-active role in dealing with bulletins, change orders, contractor payments and claims, prevent delays, expedite construction, and eliminate any surprises at the end of the construction. The job does not stop once the construction is substantially complete. CTE's construction personnel perform the final inspection and ensure the applicable punch list items are completed to meet either temporary or final occupancy. We coordinate the delivery of all equipment manuals and the necessary training for the school district personnel, and ensure that the contractor's as-built drawings and the record drawings are completed.
