Stamford Transportation Center
Millions of commuters rely on rail transit solutions to ease the headache of driving in hours of roadway congestion. CTE has been integral to the development of efficient use of transit. CTE performed construction engineering and inspection services for the reconstruction of the Stamford Transportation Center, which entails the reconfiguration and addition of new platforms and tracks and the staged replacement of the Washington Boulevard Bridge. This five-year $100 million rail improvement project enabled greater train operational and passenger boarding flexibility by expanding the station from two tracks and a third express through-track to four tracks served by platforms. CTE also provided construction management services for the Stamford Transportation Center parking garage expansion which provided 1,215 new parking spaces to supplement the existing 770 spaces. The additional spaces help to alleviate a parking demand of approximately 1,000 monthly parkers who ride the Metro-North Railroad.
