Illinois Tollway System

CTE has been the General Consultant to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority since 1954. During the design and construction of the current 274-mile system, CTE staff had specific responsibilities for planning, design, design review, and construction supervision for the system. CTE was continually involved in the planning and programming of projects and the development of design standards. CTE also performs annual inspections of the complete system and detailed bridge inspections.  Major responsibilities have included: program management, trust indenture services, toll collection system planning, communication systems, special studies, environmental services, and design standards and criteria.
