Genesee County Northeast and West Trunk Relief Sewers
The Northeast Relief Sewer includes approximately 32,000 feet of 48- to 72-inch interceptor, 14,000 feet of 48-inch interceptor and 2,500 feet of 30- to 42-inch interceptor. Approximately 8,000 linear feet of the 48-inch interceptor was constructed using micro-tunneling techniques. These new facilities eliminate three major outdated pump stations and several smaller pump stations, redirect several interceptors into the new system, and relieve approximately 28 mgd (peak flow) from the existing overloaded system.
The West Trunk Relief Sewer includes approximately 22,000 linear feet of 42-inch gravity sewer, 12,000 linear feet of 24-inch force main and a 5.2-mgd firm capacity submersible pump station (with control building, metering, SCADA, and VFD's). The pump station replaces an existing, overloaded pump station and redirects flow from an overloaded facility.
